Margo Walter

Margo Walter grew up in Mobile, Alabama and has made Montclair her home since 1986. She attended Vanderbilt University and was graduated from George Washington University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Margo has been an active volunteer in many areas of civic life, including the Montclair public schools, Montclair Kimberly Academy, the Junior League of Montclair–Newark, the Garden Club of Montclair, and Newark’s Link Community School. She has spent many years praying for her children’s schools through Moms in Prayer International, acting as the New Jersey State Coordinator from 2006 to 2010. She and her husband Frank joined Grace Church in 1988, where Margo is an ordained Elder, past moderator of many committees, and a Sunday school teacher for children and adults. Margo and Frank have raised three children to adulthood: Joe, Sam, and Lily.

God has called Margo into a second career in pastoral ministry. Pursuing that call, she attended and was graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with an M.Div. in 2013. On June 3rd, 2016 Margo was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament at Grace Church. She currently works part time as a Pastoral Associate at Grace Church. She loves providing pastoral care and prayer. Margo also works part-time as a hospice chaplain for Atlantic Home Care and Hospice and is a certified Spiritual Director through Oasis Ministries.
