Seeking to equip people to live as Christian disciples wherever God has placed them.

Missions and Service

…”for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.” Matthew 25: 35-36

Whether the need is local, national or international, the members of Grace Church seek to be the “hands and feet” of Christ and share the redeeming love of His grace to our broken world.
That’s why you’ll find our members rolling up their sleeves, serving men and women at the local soup kitchen, providing meals to shut-ins, or traveling to impoverished areas around the world to assist in disaster relief efforts.

MISSIONS

Grace Presbyterian Church has a long history as a missions-minded church. We are committed to giving generously to our missionary partners so they can share the transforming love of Jesus around the globe. Through the decades, we’ve both supported and sent many faithful missionaries to bring Christ’s love to people from all walks of life.
Missionary Partners – This legacy continues as Grace currently supports missionaries at home and abroad.

Regardless of where they serve, they work as the embodiment of Christ in ways that meet real-life needs:

  • Clean water initiatives
  • Christian broadcasting
  • Evangelism and church planting
  • Ministry to university communities
  • Bible translation and distribution
  • Disaster relief
  • Immunization programs
  • Education

Missions Conference – Each Spring we host an annual Missions Conference where we focus our attention on and celebrate local and international ministries where Grace Presbyterian Church has a presence or an interest.

Mission Members – Our Grace Church family also engages in direct mission work. Seeking to go where Christ calls, some of our Grace Church members have travelled as far as Pisco, Peru to help rebuild after a devastating earthquake and as close as Long Island NY to assist in the cleaning up after Hurricane Sandy. We have also partnered with another local church to send teams to Haiti to provide medical and dental care. This year our youth are seeking to continue this tradition by travelling to Mexico to build homes.

SERVICE

We don’t have to wander too far to see that our mission field is right where we live: in our towns, our communities, and the cities nearby. Listed below are a few service opportunities in which Grace Church members participate.

Ongoing Local Opportunities

Monthly food offering: On the last Sunday of each month, we collect food for several local ministries. Bring your bag of groceries to the table at the front of the sanctuary.

MESH – Montclair Emergency Service for the Homeless: Each Saturday, September through June, Grace Church hosts a meal and occasionally a movie for the community served by MESH. Call our church office for more information about this program or visit the MESH website.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) – Grace Church participates in IHN each year, hosting families who are temporarily without homes who stay at the church for a week. Grace Church provides shelter and meals for the week. Visit our calendar to see when we are next hosting for IHN.

Meals Ministry – The spirit of Christian fellowship and love inspiring a gift of food for brothers and sisters at Grace. Members provide meals to fellow Grace families who are facing illness, hospitalization, surgery, loss, and other temporary distress. We are always seeking those with culinary skills but for those with no time to cook -purchased meals are also appreciated. Contact the Grace Office.
