*Call to Worship Psalm 16
One: Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup, you make my lot secure
All: The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have delightful
inheritance
One: I will praise the Lord who counsels me, even at night my heart instructs me
All: I keep my eyes always on the Lord, with God at my right hand I will not be
shaken
One: Therefore our hearts are glad and our tongues rejoice
All: You make known to us the path of life; you will fill us with joy in your presence
Opening Prayer
*Hymn 420 “God of Grace and God of Glory”
Prayer for Illumination
Scripture Reading (In Unison) Romans 3:19-24, (NIV)
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
One: The Word of the Lord All: Thanks be to God
Time With Children
*Passing of the Peace
Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession followed by time of Silent Confession
Lord, We have sinned against you in thought word and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart, And we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. Silent Confession.
Assurance of Forgiveness
*Glory Be to God in Song “Glory to God”
Glory to God, whose goodness shines on me,
and to the Son, whose grace has pardoned me,
and to the Spirit, whose love has set me free.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be. Amen.
World without end, without end. Amen. (sing 3 times)
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be. Amen.

Sermon Living Lawlessly The Rev. Cynthia Wilcox
*Hymn 334 “When Israel was in Egypt’s Land”
*Affirmation of Faith (in unison) The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
