Summer Happenings with Michael & Lisa Anderson

We’ve been busy! But so thankful for the opportunities we’ve had to serve and use our gifts this season.

Thanks so much for praying – Lisa had safe, uneventful travels to Texas (twice), our AIA interns are working hard to raise their financial support in preparation for their intern year in Puerto Rico, and Michael has (mostly!) mastered all his new music.

In Our Happy Places

It was a wonderful Orientation Weekend in Dallas, getting to meet our new interns. They had a very FULL weekend of getting hired to Cru, discovering the philosophy of fundraising, and then learning the practical ‘how-to’s’ of ministry partner development. Hearing their stories of how God called them to this place and seeing their faith to step out and trust Him was so encouraging! God continues to call and equip His people to GO!

PLEASE DO PRAY for them as they are working on raising their needed funds. Pray for courage to ask, diligence to persevere and for God to provide. It’s a tough task and the spiritual battle is real.

Athletes in Action recently honored **Tony and Lauren Dungy** for their many years of significant partnership with AIA. As part of the weekend, Tony and Lauren held a ‘reading party’ for local kids, sharing their newest children’s book. (Did you know the Dungy’s have authored a series of books to help young readers, ages 6-9, learn character-building lessons through the familiar world of sports?) We were delighted to have all 4 of our grandkids attend! 🙂

Up Next…

Summer is a bit more open ‘work-wise’. We continue our regular care loads and responsibilities, but with less meetings scheduled, we can also focus a bit more time on family and working on our own ministry partner development. We have Kevin and Elyssia’s 3 kids every Wednesday while they’re out of school – we are so thankful for that intentional time with them.

We are headed east to visit our supporters and family in July. Michael will be giving the message at Trinity Methodist Church on July 12th. Our schedule doesn’t allow for a Sunday in NJ, but if you’d like to arrange a meet-up, please reach out and let us know. We would love to see as many of you as possible!
