On Thursday, December 7 our Seasoned with Grace seniors group held their annual Christmas Luncheon in the Café at Montclair Community Church. Thirty attendees had a delicious luncheon of Chicken Divan with rice, cranberry relish, dinner rolls, and all the trimmings, with a Norwegian whipped cream cake and assorted cookies for dessert. Pastor Robin shared some Christmas thoughts with us, and we tested our knowledge of Christmas with trivia questions about the season (the group knows their stuff!). Four of our nonagenarians were in attendance once again! Thank you to Montclair Community for their generosity in allowing us to meet!
Pastor Robin once again wrote a beautiful Christmas Pageant and our Sunday School presented it on Sunday, December 17 in the Chapel at Union Congregational Church. The congregation then moved outside to enjoy a petting zoo while sipping hot chocolate and munching cookies and listening to the Grace choir serenade us with Christmas carols!
New Year’s Day dawned bright and clear, and sixteen Grace Church stalwarts—yes, we include the pup—took the opportunity to begin 2024 with a walk around Brookdale Park, stopping now and again for readings and prayer.
