Grace Presbyterian Church
Meeting in the Chapel at Union Congregational Church
Serving people, through Christ, to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the community and the world around us.
Welcome
Prelude “Father, I Stretch My Hands to Thee” Hugh Wilson arr. Nolan Williams Jr.
*Call to Worship Psalm 8
One: Oh Lord, Our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth
All: You have set your glory above the heavens
One: When I look at your heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established
All: What are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
One: Yet you have made them a little lower than God and crowned them with
glory and honor
All: O Lord, our sovereign Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Opening Prayer
*Hymn 293 “This is My Father’s World”
Prayer for Illumination
Scripture Reading (In Unison) Matthew 6:9-13
Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
One: The Word of the Lord All: Thanks be to God
Time With Children
*Passing of the Peace
Call to Confession
Unison Prayer of Confession followed by time of Silent Confession
Lord, You gave us a clear summary of the law: that we were to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourself. We have gotten distracted and loved other “things”: Sports, hobbies, trying to control situations, searching and collecting shiny new objects… all at the cost of loving you and your people less. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. Silent Confession.
Assurance of Forgiveness
*Glory Be to God in Song Glory to God
Glory to God, whose goodness shines on me,
and to the Son, whose grace has pardoned me,
and to the Spirit, whose love has set me free.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be. Amen.
World without end, without end. Amen. (sing 3 times)
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be. Amen.
Scripture Lesson Psalm 103:11-13

Oswaldo Iraheta, tenor
*Affirmation of Faith (in unison) The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus
Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
