Wow did June fly. Here are some special things that happened:
- The last day of class, English Students Estrella, Violeta, and Dalia, read 1 Corinthians 13 without my telling them who the author was. Only Estrella was not surprised at the source. All listened as I shared how Jesus exhibited this love and how they could find God’s love. Lastly, I showed them where they could read more from the Bible on the Internet. Pray for lasting fruit from these classes.
- I picked the story of the Prodigal Son for Cristina’s son, I didn’t have to tell him who the father represented. He figured it out. He was deeply touched by the story.
- I have passed the leadership baton to a team of Elementary Sunday School teachers: Ascension, Bienvenida, Karmen, and Rosi) Your continuing prayers are appreciated.
- Bridget, the woman’s prayer coordinator for ACTION, paid me a week visit. She shared her testimony and mission experiences with Betania church and helped me think and pray through several issues. She also was a big help in some practical areas. We escaped the 111ºF heat for 24 hours in a mountain town an hour away. That was the highest temperature ever recorded in June.
- A small group from Betania Church joined me to do a prayer walk in Castilleja, my town. It was very encouraging to see their enthusiasm and their desire to do it again.
- God has continued to supply all my needs despite rising costs due to inflation and the supply chain. Pray for continuing provision.
Other prayer requests for July:
- 8/4 Cristina, Teresa, and I will take a day out to enjoy Sevilla together. Please pray for Teresa and I to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit if there is an opening to share more about Christ with Cristina.
- My preparation for my mini-home leave 7/19–8/13 Seattle.
- Pray against high inflation and that a proposed partial national strike in the transportation sector will not leave stores without needed products nor affect the public transportation on air and land.
May we all continue to rejoice in the Lord more each day in the midst of these challenging times!
