In Sabbath we go to a prepared place.
In prayer we practice the presence of God,
Allowing us to pause in Sacred Space,
To stop and look, to see God’s face, God’s nod.
To sigh, to laugh, to be in one moment,
To join in song with rock and sea and sky,
To leap with joy, embracing atonement,
To know we’ll understand it by and by,
To live with memory, to live with hope,
To learn to know the depth of God’s own time,
To open to angels’ voices, to grope,
To wrestle, to seek for blessing sublime.
Sabbath is a return to our best selves,
To God’s time, the time where mystery dwells.
