A Memory

Grace Presbyterian Church had a pipe organ. Occasionally a pipe would stick during rehearsal or before a service. Cliff would send Jack [Horner] up into the pipes to find the problem. This happened on Easter Sunday in the early 60s! Cliff was anxiously waiting for us to arrive for choir. He told us the problem, so Jack took off his jacket, tie, and rolled up his sleeves and climbed into the pipes. It took about 15 minutes but he found the stuck pipe and the service was able to begin on time.

Jack grew up at Grace Church. His parents were Walter and Frieda Horner. The inscription on his Bible says,
