Friends of Grace and Little Free Pantry

The newly formed Friends of Grace ministry embodies Grace’s new mission statement: They are connecting with people through Christ to serve the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the Montclair community, specifically those who are experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or both.

In partnership with Christ Church of Montclair, they are offering an evening meal once a month on the fourth Sunday of each month. These gatherings are intended to provide not just food but also time for conversation and a brief respite from life on the street. So far this year, the first dinner was held on January 29, the second on February 26, both at Christ Church. It has been absolutely wonderful to see everyone, both old friends and new ones. The Joy from the Lord was evident.

As the weather warms, the Friends of Grace will also be installing a Little Free Pantry on the Grove Street side of our church building. They will be stocking it with nonperishable groceries for people to take as they have needs.

Our Little Free Pantry as a work in progress, with George Blomn, the builder.

Check the Friday email messages from Grace Church each week to see how you can provide for the needs of the community through the ministry of the Friends of Grace.
