Grace Church has been using a program called Breeze to keep the congregation’s records since August 2020. It’s also a little-known fact that the Deacons have been using Breeze to check people in to in-person worship services since we reopened!*
Breeze has the potential to help us with the work that we do as a church:
- We can maintain an up-to-date directory of Grace community members.
- Church leadership, especially our new pastor, can use information stored in Breeze to get to know the Grace community.
- Breeze can help us obtain demographic information.** The PC(USA) asks us for such information periodically; it can also help us discern who we are as a local church and what kind of community we believe God wants us to be.
- Volunteers can sign up for events and ministries like church picnics, coffee hour, VBS, child care, and worship leadership. Breeze will then send reminders to those who volunteer.
- We might even be able to put together a pictorial directory. George W. Bush was president when the last pictorial directory was produced!
If Grace Church knows your email address, in the coming weeks you should receive an invitation to set up an account in Breeze and update the information stored there. If you would prefer that church leadership or staff update that information for you, send a note to clerk@gracemontclair.org and we’ll take care of it.
Some Grace congregants already have an account in Breeze. If you don’t, you can set up an account and check out Breeze right now if you like. Go to https://gracemontclair.breezechms.com/login/create. *Recording attendance might sound a little intrusive for a church. When we resumed in-person worship in May 2021, we thought we would have to do contact tracing if someone who attended a service tested positive for COVID-19 in the days following the service.
**Demographic information includes age ranges, ethnicity, and gender. All demographic information will be voluntarily self-reported.
