By the time you read this, work will have commenced on improvements to Grace Presbyterian Church’s Memorial Garden. The garden is in the corner of the building where the sanctuary meets the fellowship hall. Since 1995, the cremated remains of thirty-three individuals from Grace Church have been laid to rest in this space.
Improvements will include new perennial plantings, the addition of a walkway, grading of the soil, and the addition of mulch to absorb rainfall and reduce the ponding of water on the existing concrete walkways. There will also be space for the planting of flowering annuals in the spring.
Funds for this project have been donated mostly by families of those interred in the garden. There is still an opportunity to contribute financially to this project; if you wish to do so, please visit gracemontclair.org/give and select “Memorial Garden” in the box labeled “To:” or speak with Deacon President Bob Roe.
