Days after Grace Presbyterian Church’s building caught fire and our world was turned upside down, Pastor Robin, Victor Peterson, and April Sliwak (once a member, always a good friend of Grace) were together at the church telling and listening to one another’s stories of Grace. This conversation gave birth to the idea of asking people to tell their stories, then sharing those stories available with the church community.
With over 130 years of history at their disposal, the people of Grace Church have a lot of stories. A few general subject areas come to mind:
- Great movements of the spirit following a sermon or a service of music
- Spirits and bodies healed in answer to prayer
- Ministry to people in need in Montclair, Missouri, or the mountains of Puerto Rico and Peru
- Lifelong partnerships begun with words of “I do”
- Ministries begun
- Toddlers cleaning the floors of the sanctuary in their Sunday best
- The thrill of victory or the agony of defeat on the basketball court and softball diamond
