The Sunday School Didn’t Miss a Beat
On August 15, 2023, before the fire at our church building was completely extinguished, several local Grace Church families organized a lemonade stand and raised hundreds of dollars toward the rebuilding of the church. Such is the nature of the bond that children can form with one another and with places and people that are important to them.
To reassure the children that our Sunday School would find a way to carry on, the Sunday School team hosted a picnic in Brookdale Park the following week.
Sunday School began meeting again on Sunday mornings on September 10, our first Sunday in our home away from home at Union Congregational Church. What timely lessons we’ve had since then! We’ve looked at Noah and his faith in very challenging times, and we’ve looked at Abraham, who was asked by God to leave his home and to become a pilgrim and a stranger in a new land.
